Last Friday Lila had her first recital. She takes ballet and gymnastics and loves them both!

She was so excited all day thinking about the evening. We've had her costume for a few weeks and every once in a while she would put it on and walk around the house in it. Needless to say when it was time to put it on the for the recital she was very happy. :)

I don't have a lot of experience putting hair back in a bun, and Lila has a lot of fly-away hair, so I was a little worried about how her hair was going to stay. We decided to use hair gel, and her hair was like a plastic helmet! It held great. As a matter of fact, we didn't give her a bath that night and the next morning her hair was still slicked back!







The girls got to pick out which color costume they wanted. Lila originally chose yellow, which is unusual since her favorite color is pink, but they were out of XXS in yellow, so she chose pink.


The teacher didn't think they had enough ballet material to make the recital last long enough, so she decided to add in some of their gymnastics they've been working on.








It was such a fun evening. Lila had a blast! If her excitement is a sign of how many more recitals she will do in the future, then I am sure we are in for many many shows!
