Between Vacation Bible School at our church last week and Vacation Bible School at my sister's church this week we have been running around so much I feel like we haven't had time to breathe. Hopefully next week will calm down a little.

Tad was off from work for a few days this week, and one of the things on our to-do list for the summer is to take the kids fishing. They just got new fishing poles, so they were very excited to try them out.

Thankfully, my Uncle Terry has a small pond that is stocked with fish. We've taken the kids before but they didn't have "real" poles. Instead, Tad made poles from tree limbs. They actually worked really well, but they were a pain to cast.

The new ones were much more kid-friendly. They each caught a couple of catfish and were so excited to reel them in.

Tad brought a pole as well, but he spent most of his time putting bait on someone else's pole. It seemed they either caught a fish and lost the bait or lost it in the water.....constantly!

But finally Tad got a chance to fish and caught what Micah deemed "The Beast!"

Tad and the older boys went back another day and caught some more fish. They loved it. Jude, Lila, and I stayed at home and rested. We all look forward to going again soon!!
