I've wondered why schools celebrate the 100th day of school. Just another way to get kids excited about going I guess. Anyway I saw on a home school blog where the family celebrated the 100th day of school. They actually went all out, but one of their activities was having a fun snack. So I thought why couldn't we have a fun snack to celebrate our 100th day of school?

The kids were super excited about the snack I prepared. The idea was to have 10 different snacks and they had to each count out 10 pieces from each bowl to have 100 pieces in all.


Micah to count to 100 by 5's, 10's, and he had to count to 10 and then 20 in Spanish.




Drennan had to do all of that as well, but then he had to count by 10's to 100 in Spanish.
He has been sick this week, so he wasn't feeling his best in this picture.


Lila had to count to 10 over and over, then she counted to 10 in Spanish.


Drennan and Micah both asked if they could go back 99 times and refill their snack bags. They really enjoyed having a fun snack and were looking forward to it all week....even if they could care less about what numbered day of school we are on.

My niece, Brooklyn, had a Sweet 16 birthday party Saturday. Boy was it a party! Her family, school friends, softball team friends, and church friends were there. There was food, music, and dancing. Well the dancing was mostly 16-year olds, but Drennan was out there dancing a lot of the time too. :)
A word of warning: The pictures are not good quality because they were not made with Tad's camera, plus the lighting was so dark.

Drennan had the camera most of the night and he actually took a short video of Brooklyn, so we don't have any pictures of her. She looked so pretty though. So hard to believe she's 16!

Another year, another semester. We started back with our school today. Kids weren't too excited, but it's always nice to get back on a schedule.

I had to get a picture of the sign Drennan made for his desk. It's a little blurry because I was trying to focus in on the words. The other side reads "The Man is out." Unfortunately (or should I say fortunately) the sign didn't last long. It kept falling off so he threw it away.


When I started taking pictures Jude started saying "cheese."


Micah isn't much of a morning person. But he was working hard on his math this morning.


Lila did her school as well. She just wasn't awake at the time the camera was out. I can't believe we are halfway done with the school year. The days definitely fly by when we're busy busy busy.
