Tad's dad made some pictures of Drennan's recent baseball game. I thought I would go ahead and post them. It was a hot day and Tad had a wedding ALL day so my Mom went with me to help wrangle the kids.
There's one tree near the baseball field and Micah has seen too many other kids hanging from some of the branches. He thought he would take a turn. No fear.
Memp was waiting for his turn at bat. He looks so enthused. : )
Thank goodness we got to sit on one of the only two benches under the (only) shade tree.
Lila just woke up from a nap so she sat with my Mom most of the time.
Drennan made a couple of good hits. He got to score and that always makes his day.

This league is so laid back, so it's nice for the kids to just have fun and play ball!
It's taken me a few days to get to this post because Tad hasn't had a chance to get the pictures off of his camera. Since he has a wedding coming up this weekend he was forced to get them off today. Lucky me.
To celebrate Memorial Day we met up with my Dad's extended family for a cookout
at my Grandmother's house. We arrived early so the kids would have enough sun-time to swim.
For some reason most of our pictures are of Baby Lila. I think the other kids were moving around too much to be still for a picture.
Lila is enjoying a snow cone.
Tad loved this expression!
We did manage to get a few shots of the boys while they were taking a break from the pool.
Houston and Lila were having a conversation. Looks interesting.
The water was a little on the frigid side. Drennan was shivering in this picture, but it didn't stop him from swimming all afternoon.
Needless to say they were exhausted by the time we got home. Lila didn't have a nap so she was out by 7pm and slept til morning. It didn't take Drennan and Micah long to fall out either. I really look forward to warm summer days so we can go swimming more often!
Mindy left me this award at her blog and she's so faithful to read mine, so I thought I would acknowledge her. I really enjoy reading her blog about the happenings in her life. I'm supposed to pass this on to 15 other people who's blogs I read, but I don't think I read that many people's blogs. So I'm going to hoard the award here. Thanks Mindy!

Since Tad posted it on his facebook, I thought I should post it here.
We found out yesterday that we're having another boy! Yes, Lila will be
our only girl, but that will make her all the more special.
My sister was reminding me how boys
are so much easier to do than girls. No hair to fix, minimum variety of clothes, easy
to potty train,...I could go on. So we are excited about having another one.
But I'm very thankful to have Lila and she will stick with me when it's "boys against girls"
as Drennan puts it.
I'm so excited that my niece, Tyler, posted these on her facebook. Here are some shots of the kids at the zoo.
My nephew, Lucas, and my niece, Tyler. It was so nice to have big "kids" there to help out. These two are a ton of help.
Micah wouldn't have his picture made with me, but Drennan always jumps at the chance.
Baby Lila stayed in the stroller the whole time. And we had lots of "help" pushing her.
Drennan is in the petting zoo. Micah came out in tears because he was rammed in the back by one of these things.
Ellie Anna looking like her dad in this picture. If you look closely you'll see Micah across in the other window.
Kelley's girls were dressed in green. My boys were in red. So much easier to keep up with them if they're in the same colors!

We had such a fun-filled day yesterday I thought I would blog about it. I didn't get any pictures, but my sister make a lot, so hopefully I can get some of hers.
Our day started out with a field trip to the zoo. My kids and my sister's six kids went together.
Thank goodness it didn't rain. The weather was great. After the zoo we all went to Coolidge Park to eat our picnic lunch and then play in the water. Another advantage of homeschooling is that when you go to Coolidge Park during "school" hours there isn't anyone else there. The sun was very hot and we all got a little bit pink, but the kids had a blast. Needless to say they were all very tired by the time we left.
Drennan had a baseball game in the evening then we went to my Mom's for a cookout and smores. As of 9am this morning Micah and Lila are still sleeping. We were going to go out somewhere else today but decided everyone was too tired....including the adults.
I'm glad we don't have days like yesterday all the time, but it's great to have them occasionally.
Today it's back to the grind with housecleaning, schoolwork, and backyard play. Tad has a wedding to shoot this evening so no Drive-In tonight for us. It's a good thing nothing good is showing. : )
Science is so much more fun when it's hands-on. We had such great, warm weather last week. We spent much of our time outside. When it was time to do science Friday, we decided to plant some flowers we had bought. Drennan hates getting his hands dirty so we are going to have to buy him some gloves. Micah on the other hand rarely sees his hands clean!
We are going to start planting our vegetable garden soon. We have to wait for it to dry up a little. It rained all weekend. We really needed it, but now we are about to wash away. Hopefully the pollen washed away. We've all been under the weather because of it.
