Our Sunday has been a little crazy. Micah and Lila have had croup all week. I thought they were well enough to go to church today, but Micah woke up coughing again. So I was thinking maybe the baby and I would stay at home with him. His coughing slowed down quite a bit after he was up awhile and he acted like he felt fine so we decided to all go ahead and go. The problem at this point was it was already too late to try and make Sunday School, so we were just going to the Worship service. About 15 minutes before time to leave, Tad went to warm up the car and lo and behold the battery was dead! Needless to say we couldn't make it in time so we decided to all stay home.

Since I originally thought I wouldn't be going this morning, I decided I would make breakfast. My sister recently gave me a recipe for German pancakes. In an effort to keep my kids from eating cereal every morning I'm trying to cook breakfast for them more often. If my nieces like German pancakes (and they do) then I figured my kids would. And I was right! They were so good. You can put syrup on them or sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. We did the latter. Tad thinks they taste like a funnel cake. I think they are a mix between a funnel cake and french toast. Very tasty!

I totally recommend this recipe. It's fast easy and there's no sugar (besides what you sprinkle on top). My sister has been trying out tons of new recipes lately so I'm hoping I can steal a few more from her. :)

Here's a link to the recipe:

So - did you have bread flour at your house? That isn't something that I just have in my pantry.....
Also - did you cook it in a cast iron skillet?
it does have a lot of steps....doesn't look as easy as you make it sound --but it does look really good.
