I do not like it when the kids sit around and do nothing. I don't mind down time when they need it, but I'm all for playing outside, pretend play, etc. Anything to keep their minds moving.
This week has been a good week for creativity....and I didn't even have to force them to play. :)
They have been making up games all week.

One day they had a "club," and they set the timer for 5 minutes while they did a certain activity. Once the timer went off they reset it and did a different activity for 5 minutes. Some of the activities were karate, exploring, dissecting (thankfully they didn't find any large creature to dissect), and Bible among others.

Another day they decided to use spoons as drumsticks on our air conditioners. Depending on where they hit, a different sound pitch was made. It was great! Tad said it was our own Blue Man Group!

Lila and Jude played with sand for a long time. They were filling containers and emptying them into a hole in a tree. They were filthy afterwards, but they a great time.

This little stinker decided it was time to cut his hair. Why not I say. Every other child of mine has done it. Thankfully he was in need of a hair cut anyway. Here he is looking at some of what he cut. You can tell how long it was. : (
